Discuss:
o Discuss why we may have wrong perceptions of God. How does God want to shift our perspective of who He is?
1. When God speaks, it is often the opposite of what you are going through.
Discuss what happens supernaturally when He speaks.
2. How does God encourage and strengthen us, according to Isaiah 41:10?
3. What is the difference between a person's spirit and soul? Discuss the enemy's strategy to hijack our soul and how to prevent him from reopening wounds.

my victorious right hand.
—Isaiah 41:10 NLT
DISCUSSION:
Many times when I was hurting and sought help, God whispered kind words that brought healing to my life. We have all been hurt, primarily through disappointments, when people let us down. People say and do terrible things. This week, we will discuss how when God whispers kind words to us, He heals the damage that has occurred in our lives.
DISMANTLING WRONG PERCEPTIONS OF GOD
I want to encourage you that even when people who were supposed to help you could not, the Lord Himself wants to speak healing words to you. There were times in my life when no one was able to help me for some reason, but God would whisper these kind words to me. I realized my perception of God had been wrong since it was influenced by my environment, which was sometimes very hostile. I'm sharing this because I want you to know that everyone goes through hurtful situations, and there are certain times when you will need help. You may need encouragement, but it may not come from the body of Christ, even though it's supposed to come from our fellow believers and friends. Sometimes, people cannot fulfill what the Spirit of God wants to do for you through them. Plus, there are delays and all kinds of disappointments that happen in this realm. So I have learned to let the Lord Himself talk to me and have created an environment where He can speak.
In Isaiah 41:10, the Lord tells us not to be afraid or discouraged, for He is our God; He is with us. He promised to strengthen and help us, saying, "I will hold you up with my victorious right hand." God has personally whispered this scripture to me. I hold onto that word and have used it often. Now I'm giving it to you tonight. God tells us not to be discouraged; He is with us now. When God whispers kind words to us, it may seem so foreign and opposite to what we've been encountering; yet, by the Spirit, we discern that it's God supernaturally speaking. I've had times where I have had to be strong as a leader, yet simultaneously, I understand that we all need encouragement. The Spirit of God is always willing to uplift us.
o Discuss why we may have wrong perceptions of God. How does God want to shift our perspective of who He is?
I want you to know that kind words are coming toward you now in this fellowship. Be encouraged that God will hold you up with His victorious right hand, which means He does not lose. The Lord's victorious right hand always wins. He is strengthening you, speaking words by the Spirit that are completely opposite to your feelings. People around you may not even discern what's going on with you; however, you can allow the Spirit of God to speak to you now. When He speaks His plan for you, it's entirely different from what you're going through. When God whispers to you, the reality of what is happening in the supernatural realm breaks forth like a bright light in the darkness.
GOD WILLS FOR YOU TO PROSPER IN EVERY WAY
He heals the wounds of every shattered heart.
—Psalms 147:3 TPT
God's always thinking about you (Psalm 139:17–18). He always wants you to be healed and desires to mend your shattered heart, as it says in Psalm 147:3. Now is the time for your complete restoration and for your wounds to heal. The adversary, satan, will not be able to continue reopening these wounds anymore because God is speaking to you right now; He's come to you to heal you.
Beloved friend, I pray that you are prospering in every way and that you continually enjoy good health, just as your soul is prospering.
—3 John 1:2 TPT
Consider what is being said in 3 John 1:2. The Apostle John told people that he believed and prayed they were prospering. That's what I'm praying for, too. I believe in prosperity because God believes in it. John not only believed in prosperity, but prayed for his people and even wrote a letter to encourage them. Likewise, I'm praying for your prosperity. In addition, John prayed that they would enjoy good health. Again, if John believed God for divine health, then I'm going to believe for healing and good health for you. This is how the apostles believed and prayed for their people. It is essential to note in this scripture that financial prosperity is equal to healing and good health in their bodies.
In 3 John 1:2, in addition to praying for good health and financial blessing, John expressed that he believed for the people's souls to prosper. The Greek word for soul is psychḗ (pronounced psoo-khay'), which refers to the psychological realm—a person's mind, will, and emotions. We have all been given a mind, will, and emotions to enjoy this life; however, we must not allow them to dictate truth. The enemy constantly tries to hijack our emotions, minds, and will in an attempt to deceive us. His goal is to get us out of the Spirit and into our flesh so that we believe lies, speak corruptly, and commit ungodly acts. He wants to rob us of the blessings from God. John said, "I want your soul to prosper," which includes a healthy will and emotions. Reading 3 John 1:2 makes me feel better already. How about you? If the apostles, like John, wished their people would prosper and even wrote letters about it, we should be the same way toward each other. We should desire that everyone prospers and is in good health, even as their mind, will, and emotions prosper.
